Lyskowicz was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. But he eventually chose the state of Wisconsin to set roots, learning the art of cooking in Milwaukee. Lyskowicz knows that the key to great dining is making sure each guest leaves happy. He therefore focuses on creating an atmosphere that revolves around family in his kitchen, which he finds leads to a great dining experience.
LEARNING FROM LOCALS
Lyskowicz credits great local mentors within the restaurant industry for his talent. Working his way through kitchens in multiple fine dining establishments, he learned that pressure makes a diamond. Inspired by the action in the kitchen, Lyskowicz continually finds excitement and inspiration there; by combining self-training and the lessons of local talent, he seeks to create a culture of constant innovation.
Lyskowicz is excited to be engaged and a father to one-and-a-half year old Sebastian. When he’s not in The Iron Horse Hotel’s kitchen, he loves spending time with his son creating special memories that he treasures. Fatherhood has taught Lyskowicz that encouragement is the key to any success, and he takes this lesson with him into the kitchen on a daily basis to create a supportive environment that fosters growth. As he is often heard saying, “We’re The Iron Horse Hotel – we do it best!”
